About the event

For INCUBATOR three compassionate and nurturing artists Travis Vermilye, Jaime' Belkind Gerson  and Katie Caron, have come together to explore communication during preconception, conception and birth by way of pre-existing works; apropos to our premature constructs to birth, including ancestral history, DNA, Trauma and environment all of which have narratives/communication around the way we navigate  life. And all impact our nervous system and the way we develop and communicate.

During the exhibition participants will have an opportunity to slow down and reflect on their own pre-birth, conception, birth story, their being-ness, and how communication affects all of it. Think of it this way, your neuro pathways listen to your self-talk and communication with others, and depending on what you say will support a fight, flight, freeze, or a rest, reset, digest response. The flow of growth and evolution can be blocked by the way we talk with ourselves and each other. And maybe we are under the illusion of individualism due to the fear of being hurt. Everything is interconnected.

What could happen to the collective consciousness if we considered how communication impacted the pre-birth and post birth environments? How do we contribute to the collective wired consciousness in the way we communicate with ourselves and each other? How do we celebrate being human?

From preconception through birth some are asked to forget our natural intelligence and personal needs of; safety, care, growth, and love.

This exhibition provides an opportunity to look deeply at our neurological / energetic relationship with self, each other, nature, science, art and technology. Consider what happens to your nervous system when you do not feel safe, seen, heard, cared for and do not live in environments which support personal and community growth.
